A Conversation With Assistant Coach Easton Barnes
The Missoula PaddleHeads are in the midst of their second week of this 12 game road trip going up against the Ogden Raptors. Along with a number of new players on the roster, 2 members of the coaching staff are also getting their feet wet with the PaddleHeads organization. Last week we visited with Bench Coach David Peterson. Like Peterson, Easton Barnes is also in his 1st season as a coach with Missoula this season. Barnes also is no stranger to the Pioneer League.
Barnes came to the coaching ranks fresh off his playing career that made stops in numerous different leagues. 2 of these stops included the Billings Mustangs, and Northern Colorado Owlz of the PBL dating back to 2021. After the conclusion of his playing career, Barnes immediately shifted to the coaching ranks.
Prior to his time with the PaddleHeads, Barnes managed the Garden City Wind of the PECOS League for 2 seasons enjoying great success from 2024-2025. Now Barnes is back in the Pioneer League under the leadership of 6th year Manager Michael Schlact in the role of a coach for the first time.\
